CAIS Chronic Pain Clinic ™

Chronic Pain Clinic™ is an electronic medical record (EMR) that is optimized for the specialized needs of the chronic pain specialist. Modules include a patient questionnaire (including "Brief Pain Inventory"), a patient intake tool, a physician consultation record, patient visit record with procedure templates and a drug-prescribing tool. This compilation of clinical tools work together to make your clinic more efficient, your documentation better, and enables chart audits for quality assurance or research.

Consultation & Visit Records

Paper charts and record systems, in the scope of an ever-increasing amount of medical information exchange, are already unmanageable for many practices. Rather than let more and more of your day get taken up chasing and filing paper, the Chronic Pain Clinic solution lets you find and store information instantly. The software system stores the information and allows you to add new data quickly and easily. The patient's medical hisotyr includes past and current medical problems, family history, current medications and allergies. The information added is accessible from any workstation, improving the workflow throughout the clinic.

Patient Questionnaire

The patient questionnaire is a structured set of questions that will help to fill a report about each patient. the patient will define the areas of pain in their body and a "Pain Inventory" will be created. This information, now in the system, can be retrieved by the Pain Specialist or another member of the clinic at any time.

Structured Intake Interview

The EMR alerts physicians when a patient checks in, and uses the scheduling information (appointment descriptions, durations, name of doctor, location, and special room or equipment) to create an appropriate clinical-encounter form.

Manage Drug Prescriptions

The Chronic Pain Clinic EMR can detect potential interactions before finalizing prescriptions. The system has the ability to write or renew prescriptions (or tests) which improves the peed in which the orders are executed. Single or multiple medications can be refilled very quickly and a complete history of all medications that the patient has been on is readily available. The prescriptions can be printed or faxed directly from the patient chart.

Eliminates Dictation

With the elimination of the lengthy dictation and transcription process, cost savings are realized for the organization. In addition, the elimination of dictation results in a faster workflow and faster clinical documentation with a reduction in data entry errors.

Automated Billing

The system provides opportunities to efficiently review, archive and record payments. The billing is automated, accurate and has integrated claims and submission information. When a patient needs to be billed, the system can perform this task automatically, saving time in the clinic every day.

Facilitates Quality Assurance & Research

A flow sheet for easy tracking things such as Chronic Disease Management integrates quality assurance into the software. Electronic lab results are quickly and easily managed with the software. A variety of reports and charts are produced that show lab and test results to help the Pain Management Specialist decide the best course of treatment. All these benefits provide higher quality service so the physicians can spend more time with their patients and less time on documentation.
