CAIS PreOp Clinic ™

The PreOp Clinic™ is a complete software solution for the needs of a busy pre-operative assessment clinic. The tools include an online Patient PreOp Questionnaire, a structured Nursing Assessment, an Anesthesia PreOp Record, a PreOp Scheduler and an OR Admission PreOp To Do List. The system was designed to make the pre-operative assessment more efficient by linking all the tools together such as they share information. This allows each step of the assessment to build on information previously gathered, thus reducing redundancy and saving time.

 PreOp Clinic™ is used by nurses and physicians to create an electronic preoperative anesthesia record for patients. Essential tests can be identified and scheduled in advance of surgery, leading to consistent and appropriate evaluation of PreOp patients. Risk scores and patient summary are automatically generated based on the entered information. The end result is a tool designed to efficiently streamline your preoperative clinic.

Electronic Anesthesia PreOp Record

An electronic record is kept containing all relevant documents to the patient's history. Members of the clinical staff can retrieve, review and share patient records at any time from any computer terminal in the clinic. This system helps to reduce redundancy and improve the communication throughout the clinic. The information is retained in the system and will be retrieved upon the following visit.

Structured Nursing Assessment

A comprehensive and structured questionnaire is used to capture patient information. It is designed to identify risk and plan perioperatively. The results of the assessment are then used during an interview performed by the anesthesiologist. Decisions are made as to any further testing and the anesthesiologist suggest an anesthetic plan for the operation. It is structured to ensure all patients are assessed to a high standard.

With the elimination of dictation, the preadmission clinic is able to save both time and costs.

Automates Standard Investigations & Treatment Protocols

An electronic system helps with the follow-up of labs and investigations, known to be an error-prone and laborious task with a paper-based system.
